The Warriors didn't have the game they were looking for last night, losing 5-1 to the Alberni Valley to start off a three game road trip.
Alberni Valley had a quick start in the first period, with Mitch Makin shooting his own rebound off Andy Desautels' pads to get a 1-0 start. The Bulldogs didn't let go of their grip, with Taylor Derynck's first career goal and a power move from Scott Clark to make it 3-0 only 14 minutes into the first period.
The Warriors picked up their offense in the second period, with four straight minutes of power-play with eight shots. However, Bulldogs goalie Billy Christopoulos only had one difficult save during this time. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs snuck in their fourth goal with only five minutes left in the second with Clark's second goal of the night. The Warriors outshot the Bulldogs 12-6 in the second.

Both teams were doing well in the third, with the Warriors hitting a crossbar early that could have helped them get the scoring up. With only six minutes left, West Kelowna pulled Desautels with a power play, helping Jason Cotton to get on the board for the Warriors, 4-1.
The Warriors had a couple of good chances afterwards, with Andrew Johnson not quite making a great opportunity and the Warriors hitting another crossbar. Finally, Eric Margo sealed the deal for the Bulldogs with an empty netter to finish the game 5-1.
The Warriors will have their second game of the road trip against the Powell River Kings on Saturday night.
