The West Kelowna Warriors snuck their way into the Interior Division Playoffs on Saturday with a 6-2 win against the Surrey Eagles.

The Warriors opened up the scoring in the first period with Tanner Campbell making a goal past traffic on the power play. Scott Patton kept up the Warriors' 1-0 lead with a couple key saves in the final minutes of the first.

The Warriors' power play was still hot in the second, with Brayden Gelsinger and Kristian Blumschein scoring within 59 seconds on separate man-advantages. They held the 3-0 lead heading into their intermission, only to find out that they had a chance at the playoffs. To play in the first round against the Penticton Vees, all the Warriors had to do was keep up their 3-0 lead.

Gelsinger had his second of the night in the third to make it 4-0 on yet another power play. The first five minutes of the third were hot for the Eagles, however, with two goals. The first was a power play shot by Andy Chugg, while Cole Plotnikoff scored against his former team for 4-2.

Jason Cotton took back the Warriors' three-goal lead at 14:55 and Campbell had his second of the night on an empty net with 3:49 left.

The 6-2 win against Surrey gives the Warriors their third straight playoff appearance. The series will begin on Tuesday and Wednesday in Penticton, and Games 3 and 4 will be Friday and Saturday at Royal LePage Place.

Tickets for the series will go on sale Monday at the Warriors office.
