Toronto Blue Jays rookie slugger Vladimir Guerrero Jr. did not disappoint in the first round of Monday night’s Home Run Derby.
Guerrero Jr. smashed a record-setting 29 home runs in the first round, breaking the previous record of 28 set by Josh Hamilton in 2008.
The 20-year-old was just 9-years-old when Hamilton set the previous record.

Some baseball fans thought the MLB was wrong to put Guerrero Jr. in the derby on account of having only eight home runs so far this season.
However, those fans are probably pretty quiet at this point.
NowMedia will update this story if Vladdy Jr. takes home the trophy.
