Ten Prime Okanagan Hiking Spots to Enjoy the Weather

The weekend of May 8 - 10 is going to be a stunner in Kelowna. We will have a sunny Friday evening, and highs of 28 have been predicted for both Saturday and Sunday. Hiking enthusiasts have a prime opportunity to get out and enjoy the weather, so KelownaNow reporter Lauren Hjalmarson put together a video highlighting ten of the best hiking spots throughout the Okanagan.

Here are some stills and links for more information.

This is Canyon Falls, more commonly known as Crawford Falls:

For more on Canyon Falls, you can check out one of the two stories we have done on the popular spot.

- From last year's waterfall series

- From our hiking columnist Carlee Kish

The Bear Creek Falls hike follows a creek and requires a short swim to reach the falls. It is a more difficult hike.

Hardy Falls is a very easy, stroller-friendly trail.

Mill Creek Falls is a very easy hike that accommodates families and strollers.

Naramata Falls is a more challenging hike that will require you to get your feet wet. Be sure to wear footwear that is up to the task. This trail is not recommended for small children or people with mobility issues.

Dilworth Mountain Park offers one of the most stunning panoramic views of Kelowna available, yet it is an easy trail suitable for anyone.

Waterfront Park is one of Kelowna's top tourist attractions. It may not be a hiking spot, but the park has a fantastic lakefront boardwalk that you won't want to miss out on this weekend.

Bertram Creek Regional Park

There are three easy grade hiking trails in Bertram Creek Regional Park. This park is located in Kelowna, down Lakeshore Drive.

Carrot Bluffs Mountain

Carrot Bluffs is a moderate to difficult hike but, as you can see, the reward is worth it!

Knox Mountain Park

Knox Mountain is one of the most popular hiking destinations for Kelowna residents, as it is very centrally located and only minutes from downtown. If you start at the bottom of the hill, you will have a hike of moderate difficulty; however, many of the best lookout spots can be reached by car as well.
