Kelowna Ribfest will return this summer for first time since 2019

For the first time since before the COVID-19 pandemic, Kelowna will hold a multi-day rib festival this summer.

The popular food festival was cancelled in 2020, like most summer events were that year, but it has remained on the sidelines ever since.

It has now been confirmed that Kelowna Ribfest will return to City Park for the first time since 2019, as it will be held from July 5-7, 2024.

"We are pleased to bring back this popular festival to the city and welcome guests as we introduced a new logo, new social media handles, new production team and new dates,” said Christina Ferreira from Impact Events + Brand Management.

The three-day event will be centred around succulent ribs, of course, but there will also be plenty of entertainment, a kids zone, adult beverages and other food options as well.

Kelowna Ribfest is now accepting applications for vendors to be a part of their Vendor Village, with only a few spots available to be filled.

Ferreira says the festival will be an experience for everyone and to help everyone be able to enjoy the event, admission will be completely free throughout the three days.

"Our goal is to create a great time for everyone who attends,” noted Ferreira. “We are seeking sponsorship support at this time, taking on this festival as a for profit organization comes with a lot of costs and risks, we are hoping to see support from our community for this loved event."

And while the festivities are free, donations will be accepted if anyone wants to contribute funds to help keep Kelowna Ribfest free for the community to attend going forward.

Organizers are also looking for volunteers to help the event run smoothly.

Visit the new Kelowna Ribfest website to learn more about the event, which vendors and rib chefs will be there, and how you can get involved.
