Kelowna patio guide: 19 great patios across the bridge to try this summer

Aimed to help both residents and tourists who are looking for new spots to eat and drink outdoors this summer, our patio guide will come in seven parts (each a different neighbourhood) between May 13-19.

These stories will just give you the tip of the iceberg when it comes to patios in a certain area, as we can’t highlight them all, but it gives you a starting point that will surely lead you to other great outdoor spots nearby!



West Kelowna has a wide variety of wineries, breweries and restaurants.

You’ll find wineries and restaurants along the beautiful, scenic Boucherie Road or breweries and family-friendly locations on both sides of Highway 97.

West Kelowna has become a hub for wine lovers, tourists and families. The driver across the bridge offers a little something for everyone – including a selection of patios that offer views of Okanagan Lake, vineyards, the mountains and more.

If you are looking to try something new or take a leisurely drive through part of the Central Okanagan’s beautiful wine country, here are nearly two dozen patios to check out.


19 Okanagan Grill + Bar

3509 Carrington Rd.

  • This casual fine dining restaurant is a true West Kelowna gem that overlooks the Two Eagles Golf Course.
  • It features a menu and wine choice inspired by the Okanagan Valley with items such as the magical mushroom burger, pappardelle rose pasta, pacific black cod and homemade deserts.

Angel Share (at Crown & Thieves Winery)

3887C Brown Rd.

  • This “rooftop noshery” just opened in 2022 at the Crown and Thieves Winery and offers breathtaking views of Okanagan Lake and the surrounding vineyards.
  • This unique restaurant serves shared plates for a communal dining experience. The dinner menu features item like duck meatballs, scallops, roasted Okanagan mushrooms and Spanish paella.

Annie’s Beach Cafe & Lounge (at Frind Estate Winery)

3725 Boucherie Rd.

  • Located at Frind winery, this restaurant and patio offers a variety of treats including breakfast options, fresh focaccia, a selection of pizzas and, of course, a great selection of wines.
  • A unique aspect of this special spot is the “dining in the domes” program that features charcuterie boards and more – all under domes that allow people to enjoy the outdoors anytime of the year.

Cherry Pit Restaurant

  • The Cherry Pit Restaurant is a West Kelowna classic serving up breakfast must-haves, homemade burgers and wraps and favourites like homemade borscht, fries, and grilled cheese.
  • Centrally located, this casual dinner is a great place to take your friends or family after a swim, hike or fruit picking excursion in West Kelowna.

Courses Restaurant (Shannon Lake Golf Course)

  • West Kelowna is never short on wineries or golf courses, and the Courses restaurant and patio at Shannon Lake Golf Courses is a must see and visit.
  • You can enjoy a tasty meal and overlook the course surrounded by towering pines after a game on their secluded location.

Grizzli Winery

2550 Boucherie Rd.

  • Grizzli Winery is located in the scenic Boucherie Road area, aka West Kelowna’s beautiful vineyard region. The views will not disappoint here.
  • You can enjoy live music events, the art gallery and, of course, terrific wine options. Grizzli Winery regularly hosts events so, be sure to keep an eye on their website and social media for their next great event.

Il Mercato Social Kitchen

  • The staff at Il Mercato make everything in house to ensure people get the highest level of quality and freshness. This includes fresh seafood dishes, chicken entrees and, of course, pizzas.
  • The central location makes for an east place to take the family for weekday dinner or a special occasion. Plus the patio is bound to offer a great summer dinning experience.

  • Described as a "rag-tag" group of three wineries, one cider house and one brewery calling West Kelowna home.

Kelly O’Bryan’s

  • BC's very own classic Irish themed restaurant and pub.
  • This location offers up delicious food and beverages at competitive prices alongside a fun and relaxing atmosphere to go for brunch, lunch and dinner.

Kind Brewing

  • Kind Brewing is a great stop for lunch, an evening out with friends, or a craft beer stop on an Okanagan wine tour.
  • You can enjoy a pilsner, IPA, Belgian beers and more. To top it off, there is an adorable patio outside where oyu can enjoy a bite to eat.

  • Stop in and enjoy a tasty craft beer and catch a comedy show, live music, a game of ping pong or play a round of trivia.
  • This special spot offers a wide selection of beers including everything from a crisp lager to hazy pale ale and amber ales. You can also enjoy a wide variety of pub food favourites here!

  • This patio makes for a perfect brunch spot with the best views of Okanagan Lake
  • A great spot to bring the family or friends to enjoy a social board, flatbreads, burgers or desert and a glass of wine.

The Modest Butcher Kitchen + Market (At Mt. Boucherie Estate Winery)

829 Douglas Rd.

  • Described as the Okanagan's best dining experience with "a pinch of modesty" this location is perfect for special occasions or a casual meal.
  • Located in one of West Kelowna's most iconic vineyards, you will get great views of Okanagan Lake while enjoying a unique menu featuring items like fine cheese, tuna tartare, a wide variety of steaks, rissotto, burgers, and a cheesecake made with wine poached Okanagan apples.

Neighbours Pub

  • Gather your crew and enjoy a craft beer, spirits and some delicious pub fare – all while taking advantage of the patio.

Old Vines Restaurant

  • Located in Quails Gate winery, this restaurant is one of the top-ranked in the Okanagan and it features gorgeous views of neighbouring vineyards and the mountains across the lake.
  • You can enjoy a fancy dinner, a unique lunch experience or stop in for brunch on the weekend. They even have a kids menu for the little ones!

Original Joe's

Sammy J's Grill and Bar

Whiski-Jack’s Pub

  • Whiski-Jacks offers some great deals including $5 off pizza on Sundays, $5 off on Fish and chips on Monday, $0.75 wings on Wednesday and a burger special on Friday night.
  • Their small patio is sure to stir up some fun on a weekend or spark a great conversation with friends.

Wings

  • With over 25 different flavours of wings to choose from, you are sure to find something you like at wings.
  • This centrally located spot has several brew options, some fun cocktails, regular comedy and trivia nights plus a patio that gives a great view of the surrounding neighbourhood.
