After a three week delay due to the Central Okanagan wildfires, the Imagine Pandosy Art Festival is finally set to take place this Sunday.
The KLO Neighbourhood Association (KLONA) has spent months organizing the third annual event, which will feature art exhibitions, food trucks, activities for kids and live music at SOPA Square from 10 am to 4 pm on Sept. 17.
Over 40 artists and crafters will show and sell their work along Pandosy Street and in the parking lot beside Bread Co, and visitors will get to enjoy tunes by Cod Gone Wild, an Okanagan Celtic band, and Andrew Smith, a tap-style guitarist.
SOPA Fine Arts will showcase their current collection of contemporary Canadian and international art, complete with music performed by a DJ in the background, and Gallery 421 will host a special one-day event with live music and demonstrations of paintings and sculptures by professionals.
Additionally, Tutt Street Gallery will feature original contemporary art by regional and national artists.
Children who attend the festival will have the opportunity to build a Jenga tower, hold a baby chick and get their face painted.
The community is encouraged to attend the festival and then head over to Kelowna’s newest waterfront park for the evening.
KLONA is a registered non-profit society, and the festival is free to attend.
