Another mud slide has closed an area highway and an accident has also closed the same road, this one east of Vernon.

There is an accident on Highway 6 approximately six kilometres east of Lumby and the road is reduced to single lane alternating traffic. Further down the highway near the Needles Ferry Dock the road is closed in both directions because of a mud slide. The estimated time of opening is not currently available as crews arrive on scene to assess the situation.

Anyone using this highway to access the ferry across the Upper Arrow Lake to the Kootenays will need to find an alternate route. There is no information available as to whether any properties have been affected by the slide.
