UPDATE: Kamloops RCMP still searching for that missing 1,400-pound bull

(UPDATE: August 31st @ 9:00 a.m.) - The 1,400-pound bull that Kamloops RCMP reported missing a few days ago is still on the loose.

Some residents of Dallas and Juniper Ridge have said they have seen the bull, however, these reports are often on social media and not conveyed to the police.

Cpl. Jodie Shelkie said by the time the RCMP receive this information, the bull is no longer in the area.

Police are asking anyone who sees the bull to contact the Kamloops RCMP immediately.

The public is reminded to keep a healthy distance from the bull and to not approach it as the bull is very unpredictable and considered dangerous.

(UPDATE: August 30th @ 4:30 p.m.) - Kamloops RCMP and conservation officers are currently searching the Juniper area after the missing bull was spotted near Highland Road and the Owl Road dump earlier today.

Cpl. Jodi Shelkie said the bull has been seen, but RCMP have yet to close in on him.

Shelkie said there had not been any reported sightings since the notice went out Monday for residents to be on the lookout, but RCMP received several calls this afternoon. An RCMP helicopter has been seen circling the area as of 4 p.m.

(Original story: August 28th @ 2:00 p.m.) - Kamloops RCMP and BC Livestock Yard have a slightly strange request.

They’re requesting the public’s assistance to locate a 1,400-pound bull that’s on the loose.

The bull escaped the BC Livestock Yard on the TransCanada Highway East last week.

It’s tan in colour with large horns and no markings or brands.

Police received a tip that the animal had been seen on the weekend between Tanager Drive and the Pineridge Golf Course.

Since then, however, the bull could have travelled a good distance in any direction.

The animal is very unpredictable and could be dangerous, so the police are warning the public not to approach the bull.

If you see the animal, please contact the Kamloops RCMP or BC Livestock Yard immediately.
