Sarah McLachlan, Amanda Marshall headlining 32nd annual Roots and Blues Festival

Sarah McLachlan is headlining the 32nd annual Roots and Blues Festival in Salmon Arm.

Organizers made the announcement Monday morning when the full lineup was released.

“So many people, me included, were looking forward to hearing Sarah McLachlan’s iconic songs ring through Salmon Arm last summer. We’re thrilled that she and so many other incredible artists from across the world are able to come back this year,” says Kevin Tobin, artistic director, Salmon Arm Folk Music Society, in a release.

McLachlan was set to headline last year’s event but the festival was cancelled just one day into the weekend due to the aggressive Bush Creek East wildfire that burned in the North Shuswap region.

Ticket holders to this year were given refund options in September.

“Our mission has always been to bring world-class and culturally diverse music to Salmon Arm. With the artists we’ve confirmed for the 32nd annual festival so far, I think we’ve done that even better this year,” Tobin says.

This year’s event, which is happening July 26-28, will feature an all-star lineup of Canadian and world musicians including Amanada Marshall, Five Alarm Funk, Canadian breakout star Begonia and Miko Marks from Nashville.

Other artists on the schedule include Kootenay-based Moontricks, the soulful jazz blues duo Blue Moon Marquee, Colombian Canadian singer-songwriter Lido Pimienta, JUNO-nominated Oji-Cree singer-songwriter Aysanabee, DJ Shub presents War Club Live and more.

Festival weekend passes, day passes and camping are available online at rootsandblues.ca or by phone at (250) 833-4096.
