The 14th annual Kelowna Scarecrow Festival returns to Lions Park in Rutland today.
The event, which takes place from 11 am until 3 pm, is the perfect way to kick off fall and it’s completely free to attend.
Attendees will be able to create their own unique scarecrow for a chance to win prizes, and there will also be local vendors, performers, food and fun for the whole family.

While the event will look quite similar to previous years, there is one big change heading into the festivities at Lions Park today.
After being run by Impact Events + Brand Management over the past three years, the festival has been taken over by non-profit organization Creative Okanagan.
Executive and creative director Karma Lacoff Nieoczym says their team is “excited to carry on the legacy” of the popular fall kickoff event.
"We look forward to building on the strong foundation laid by Impact Events and the Uptown Rutland Business Association, building on the musical entertainment presented, creating memorable experiences for the community,” she explained.
While the Kelowna Scarecrow Festival may not always get the same hype as other events that take place downtown, it’s one of the city’s most beloved annual events.
Head down to Lions Park in Rutland today for some great free family fun, the perfect way to get into the spirit of the fall season.
