(UPDATE: 2:00 p.m.) - A KelownaNow reader has reported that the power outage in West Kelowna is due to a flatbed truck taking out a tensioned support wire.
"Flat deck truck took out a tensioned support wire from a utility pole at Shannon Lake Road and Tallus Ridge Drive," Jesse Tomlinson commented on a KelownaNow Facebook post. "Tension from the wire caused it to snap back into the power wires."
We await confirmation from BC Hydro on whether there is a second power outage or not.
(UPDATE: 1:45 p.m.) - Two West Kelowna power outages remain listed on BC Hydro's website.
So far, however, BC Hydro has only acknowledged one of them which has 2,951 people in the dark.
